New project - Sherlock Holmes Playing Cards!
I have some awesome news to share with you
guys today! I mentioned a few times I've been working on some projects
over the past couple of months. One of them is about to be launched
this week and I couldn't be more excited to finally share it with you! It's a Kickstarter project that the lovely Tabitha Grace Smith - Author (who you may remember as the author of the Jack the Kitten is Very Brave
children's books I illustrated) has set up to produce a deck of playing
cards with some Sherlock Holmes designs on them. However, this set is
not your average Sherlock Holmes characters. They're based off the idea
that Sherlock is an otter and Watson is a hedgehog! It's a new cute
twist on an awesome, classic story that I hope you all will enjoy. If
you want to get involved, feel free to follow the links below for more
information.
To make it even more awesome, everyone who signs up at Thunderclap will get a free Sherlock logo car decal with their Kickstarter pledge!

And everyone who signs up here on Facebook will get one of my drawings as a sticker with their Kickstarter pledge!

So be sure to check it out because the game is on!

More vectors
This piece started out as something completely different and somehow
morphed into this. I even started creating an extremely stupid, very
silly story to go with it as I kept going with it. Apologies if none of
it makes any sense. I really enjoyed working on this though, the
picture part at least. ;) It's rare I ever pull together an entire piece like this, with a background and everything.
Another practice piece in this simple style. Care for a cup of tea? :) Be careful, the cups are ticklish. ;D

Kawaii!
I've never been well versed in foreign languages (I'm lucky to understand my native tongue most of the time. LoL!). So when I saw posts of Kawaii art, I had no idea it meant "Cute" art. Somehow I eventually stumbled upon that fact and have been in love with all things kawaii ever since. LoL!
One love I've found recently is for kawaii food jewelry. They're so tiny and adorable! But having been unable to work well with clay and polymer items, I'ev always avoided trying to make such things myself. Although a few months ago, I tried ultra light sculpey clay as a jumping off point, which I do NOT recommend for new users. It did not turn out well. :S However, after doing some research and finding a small craft store not too far away, I was able to find some better clay to work with. Fimo, I believe? *Will have to double check that later* Either way, here's a few of my creations thus far. Note, none of these items have been glazed. I also have several items that I've turned into earrings and necklaces, so hopefully I can take some better pictures of those soon to share. ;) (The lighting is really bad on some of these. :P)

Another Great Website
A friend of mine told me about this website and I have fallen in love with it. The colors are vibrant. The pictures are adorable. What more could any illustrator/artist want? ;)

A little lumpy dragoon...
Just a little something I did with my tablet. ;) I did one without a very decorative background, and then one with a little bit of decoration. Not sure which one looks best. :/ What do you guys think? ;)

Quack, quack over a broken heart

I know the title to this post is a little weird, but once you see the pictures, it makes a little more sense, I think. :) Like I said below, I've been working with the computer "Paint" program this weekend, and this is what I've done so far. Not much, actually, but I figure it's good practice in case I ever get a tablet or something. (I keep hinting that that's what I want for Christmas, but I don't think anyone seems to be paying attention. :) Anyway, I created this cute little duck and panda bear who's apparently got a broken heart.

Something Simple
I did a bunch of new pieces of the weekend, and basically kept it simple. Here's one I really liked. I thought it was simple, yet cute. Kind of like something on a greeting card. :) Hope you enjoy. It reminds me of spring, too, so it's kind of a brighter picture than the Halloween ones that were out there last week. :)

The magic dragon
This picture reminds me the cartoon Dragon Tales. It just feels so magical! I feel like I can step into this picture and there would be a road waiting for us to walk down! I like dragons myself, although I highly doubt I would ever want to meet a real one. :) I think this would make a really cute picture book, too. I just need to think of a story to go with it......
