Painting Practice

I felt like trying out some painting techniques, and since I don't have that many photos of real life items to paint, or was just too lazy to go find/take pictures of them, I just picked one from some of the photos that inspire me. This one on the left by popoks is beautiful. I can't find the direct link, but her gallery is full of amazingly colorful pictures, so be sure to check them out. This one was simple and full of vibrant stuff so I tried my hand at it. Not sure I like the outcome, but it was fun to push myself to try something I don't normally do.

Another Great Website

A friend of mine told me about this website and I have fallen in love with it. The colors are vibrant. The pictures are adorable. What more could any illustrator/artist want? ;)

Autumn

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year, and since the first day of Autumn is coming (Sept. 22/23) I thought I would post the one picture that I have scanned that reminds me of Autumn. This is of a girl who misses summer and her time to relax, hence the words 'relax' in the pic. I colored this one with colored pencils only, no markers. This is the one that showed me it wasn't so bad to use colored pencils only. I could actually get brighter colors without the streaks and dry outs that markers have.
