It's pretty hot where I am today so having a little rain this way might be a pretty good idea actually.

Practice pieces
I didn't have a lot of time to work on much last night, so I took a few
precreated items and added a few new simple shapes to create this as a
quick web design idea. I really like putting pages together like this
and working on my placement. I definitely need that kind of practice and
it's been very inspiring so far. :) I'd have never imagined that trying to think of a web page design would give me so many ideas. LoL!
Just something silly I created.

A few people seemed to like the mouse creature from one of my previous doodle pages so I attempted this. (The original doodle had been resized and the rain and background had been added to the smaller version, so I opened up the larger version and had to redraw everything to make it look better.) The rainbow background seems a bit off from the scene. Does it work or should it be darker and more sad/sinister? I kept the image as simple as it was in my doodle. And thinking about it now, I'd rather have the background with some sort of edging detail or pattern. So I may still revise this a bit. I wouldn't mind expanding it even into something of a larger illustration actually.

With just a chance of rain.
Just some more practice pieces. Did a couple of variations with this, though I didn't care for how it turned out like I thought I would. Guess I just need to keep practicing. ;) Happy Monday!

Rain drops keep falling...

...and then it rained....

It's been raining quite a bit this week, which I guess is what perhaps partly inspired this piece? Although it was more inspired by this talented artist I came across recently. Either way, here's what my head came up with.

Under the sea...
Well, I guess this post is appropriate, seeing as how it's been pouring down rain here today. (I'm not complaining though. We definately needed the rain.) As with most of my pics, I did this one over the weekend. I originally drew a really cute sketch of this, but seeing as how my sketches never match my final work, this one doesn't look anything like it. However, I do have a work in progress piece I started first that looks very similart to my sketch. I used the "Scrapbooking" method on it, while this is a painting I did in acrylic.

Is it just me or do drawings of octopuses look much cuter than the real thing? :)
