What I've been up to! Part One!

Sorry for being gone so long!  I've pretty much just been posting to Instagram lately as I just haven't had time to share anything anywhere else.  I do have some things I'd like to share with you guys, so I'll go ahead and post those here!  

I have a fairly longer post to share as well so I'll keep this one brief and simple! I'll try to start off where I left off before, with these little mini memory books I made.  The purple one I made for my birthday and the other is obviously for Halloween.  I was waiting for pictures from Groovebook to be printed to put in these so I need to go back and finish them!  

I made the snowman book from a travelers notebook I got from Michaels and love how it turned out.  So much so, I couldn't decide what to do with it!  LoL!

 

Found this cute little blank wooden sign at Walmart that I ended up painting and created to look like something from Alice in Wonderland.  :) 

 Obligatory silly dinosaur sketch.  Obviously.

And we'll finish this post with some colorful gelliprint / Mixed media work.  I really love these pages.  I want to try to start using these for scrapbook pages or something fun.  Just have to make myself do it! 

Doodles

One thing I did do at the end of 2015 was doodle a bit more.  Here are a few of the doodled pages I shared.  Hope you enjoy!  This year I've also started a daily doodle project in my Year of the Doodle planner/journal.  The pages in this thing are absolutely gorgeous.  If you're not into doodling, it would really make a nice little planner as well.  Or you could use it for both I guess.  I'll post my progress so far in another post.

Actually drew a thing last night on my computer!  Yay me!  And happy early memorial day weekend to those in the USA! :D

Mixed Media - doodles

I've got a bit of a cold, so my art is being pushed to the side in favor of kleenexes and sleep at the moment, but I thought I'd share a page or two I managed to doodle on this past week. I'm still feeling my way around with the whole mixed media idea, but I think I like where its taking me. :)

Doodle from start to finish

Thought I'd share a little doodle from start to finish with you guys. This is on a printable photo sheet, a 4 x 6 I believe, with a tuxedo black Sharpie marker and pen.

A few people seemed to like the mouse creature from one of my previous doodle pages so I attempted this. (The original doodle had been resized and the rain and background had been added to the smaller version, so I opened up the larger version and had to redraw everything to make it look better.) The rainbow background seems a bit off from the scene. Does it work or should it be darker and more sad/sinister? I kept the image as simple as it was in my doodle. And thinking about it now, I'd rather have the background with some sort of edging detail or pattern. So I may still revise this a bit. I wouldn't mind expanding it even into something of a larger illustration actually.

Just some random doodles of humans. Still working to improve shape and perspective and everything in between.

Some traditional work of a piece I started and didn't really finish from a little while back. Had planned on adding in more details like some of my other full page doodles. May or may not come back to it.

Drawn with any sort of black ink pen or marker I could get my hands on. More then likely a cheap marker for filler areas and micron pens. Drawn on regular printer paper.

Some hideous and weird stuff

These are just some old pieces I didn't like or didn't feel like sharing before. Just to show myself how far I've come, I'm sharing them now. I know they're hideous, so no need to leave any comments as I've no plans to revisit/rework/relook at them. They're only being shared for my own amusement. :)

Just a little something old for your Friday enjoyment. :) I found a whole stash of really really really old pieces the other day, which I plan to scan in soon and share with you guys. :D So you can see if or how much I've progressed over the years. XD Happy Friday! This is a pen and paper traditional piece.

Just a little something funky

Just a little something simple I created in Adobe Illustrator for practice. Feel like I'm finally starting to figure a few things out with it finally. ;) Hopefully will eventually be able to use it to it's full advantage.

Spaced out doodle

Another old piece. I really liked how this turned out and had even tried another version that I thought would make a cute children's book. I worked on a few pages for it, but never finished it. Maybe one day I'll go back to it. ;p
