Circles and some traditional pieces

TRADITIONAL WORK:

This was originally going to be a gift for someone, but then I either didn't finish it in time or didn't think they'd like it so I stopped at this point. Not sure what else would have been added. Not sure it's worth completing. :/ I'm not really sure what Ride on was meaning here. I think I was basing it off the fact that the person it was for liked horses? But I've no idea why I added the chicken. I must have been thinking to do some farm/cowgirl theme, but I just can't remember. O.o

Drawn in my sketchbook with any microns or black inkpens/markers I had on hand. Colors edited a bit on my computer.

Another piece from my sketchbook drawn with microns/inkpens/markers. I really liked this one though. It's so much fun trying to fill up the entire page with meaningless doodles and pictures. ;D

This is an unfinished piece I started awhile ago. I sort of lost focus when I was working on it. It may or may not get finished one day. :/

Drawn in my sketchbook with microns and any other black pens I could get ahold of. The colors were edited a bit from the scan, but nothing else was really changed.

DIGITAL WORK:
 Random Stuff
 Just some more circular doodles.
his was fun. I really really really love these two as characters. I may need to revisit them. I think they'd make for a cute little pair to draw.
This is just so random. I really got into doodling these circle characters. I kept using the same predrawn stuff on them more or less and changed it up a bit each time, so I ended up making dozens with basically very little effort. ;D But I loved how they turned out. I don't know where the idea came from for this. I guess I figured it would hurt having a flag stabbed into me. ;D (I was tired when I drew this, if that helps you to understand where the idea may have come from.) I'm really digging the black/white/gray look. I love the simplicity of basic line art. And I've always loved the Olivia children's books that adds just a bit of color to the mostly black/white/gray photos, so I decided to throw that element in there as well at some point.
 Just more random doodle weirdness.
Just to add a bit of color in with all this black and white stuff. I tend to get carried away with figuring out which color looks best on my creatures. What color do you like best?

Some traditional sketchlings

A compilation of some traditional sketches and doodles. Most are from the past few weeks drawn when I didn't have a chance to draw digitally.

Just some random sketches and things for practice.

This is a bit of a dark piece. Just wanted to play with some techniques and was too lazy to do much more then copy what I'd already doodled and flip it. ;D

I don't know what this girl is pointing at or why, but her name in my head is Pointer girl. :/ Just wanted to try out some background stuffs with my sketches. I really liked the color scheme on this even if the idea doesn't make a lick of sense. ;D

Been practicing people and just basic stuff. I've been incredibly inspired by Xamag's art, which you can check out here. While I've never really drawn people with horns before, they've actually been a huge inspiration to me. They seem to give my bland characters a bit more personality and life somehow. It's been fun pushing myself to work harder and better and in new ways. These were all so much fun to draw. Especially the middle lady in red. ;D

So far, I call these two Ric and Rac. I think I may rename them and use Ric and Rac for better characters though. :p

No idea what to say about this really. Just practicing stuff I guess.

Some of the first

Can we have a drum roll please? I'm about to reveal to you some of my first drawings / sketches with my Bamboo tablet, so please, hold all laughter, snickering, and snide remarks until the end of the show. ;)

First, we have, what I think I meant to be, a couple of worms. More specifically, a boy worm and a girl worm who kind of sorta really like each other. :)

This next picture is supposed to be a devil/goblin sort of monster. The pitchfork is really all that's devilish about him, but I guess he could still be something of a devil without it. Either way, I don't think it matters. I was basically trying out the tablet to see how well I could draw scales and textures. I haven't installed my new paint programs yet, so hopefully it will look better when I do. And last but not least is one that I did in color. Something very simple, yet colorful. :)

Like I said, these are just the first few pictures I've done with my tablet so far. Hopefully they'll get better. Alot better. :) I drew a few pictures on my graffiti wall on facebook and will hopefully get to publish some of those tomorrow, since they look a lot better than these. :)

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. As for me, I'm kind of glad the holidays are almost over. I'm just so exhausted! It will be nice to get back in the groove of things so I won't have to worry about my schedule and wrapping presents and making sure my neice and nephews didn't spill the beans and blurt out to everyone what their presents from me were. :) Plus I've been in somewhat of a creative rut this past week or so, so maybe once I have time to think about something besides presents, I'll have a better creative flow.

*Fingers crossed* ;)
