I decided to try re-sketching this in new colors and to keep a normal, bland style and theme this time. A storm knocked out our electricity for a bit, so I didn't get very far. But I like the way this one looks. This is still very rough, but you can see bits of my work process. I did this one free hand over my sketch, where as I used line segments and anchors for my line work before. The lines would obviously be cleaned up up on this, but I think the free hand makes the piece less stiff then the other. I also added in a little hat to the pensive worm on the orange.

I still have trouble creating a character in multiple positions, so the blue elephant looks a bit different to me then the first, but this was what I had in mind for an accompanying picture to the blue elephant on the left. A few people had mentioned this would make a good 'missing you' card. I'm not sure the sentiment works on the second part, but I thought I would share it with you all none the less.

Another sketch I decided to color. I experimented with it as well, but it came out much closer to what I had in mind.

I started this from one of the sketches I recently shared. I liked the composition and I do like the colors I used, more or less, but I experimented with texture and my line work and I'm not happy with the results of those at all. Regardless, I thought I would share it with you guys. I may rework it to try play around with my techniques a bit more.

*Sorry for the top being so close/cut off looking. This was just for fun so the display wasn't a huge priority when I decided to share it.

This wasn't the idea I originally had in mind, but this is what came from mindless doodling while trying to practice on vector-ish work. It makes absolutely no sense, which seems to fit my work quite well.

Worms?  Or something... I'm not sure what most of these are. Practice I guess. They were fun. I need to practice placement/perspective more. I never seem to line anything up right, especially on faces. Doing simple stuff like this helps...I think...

I may try coloring some of these. I still don't feel like I've got a specific technique I prefer to draw in. :/ But I think I'm getting closer each time to finding it.

Cutesy, cutesy, cutesy

I just loved how this turned out. It's not anywhere near perfect, but it really looks good I think. It looks like something from a children's book. Maybe it will be one day! :D Anyway, I did this with the graffiti app on facebook and with my tablet. I hope you enjoy and have a good weekend! :)

Some of the first

Can we have a drum roll please? I'm about to reveal to you some of my first drawings / sketches with my Bamboo tablet, so please, hold all laughter, snickering, and snide remarks until the end of the show. ;)

First, we have, what I think I meant to be, a couple of worms. More specifically, a boy worm and a girl worm who kind of sorta really like each other. :)

This next picture is supposed to be a devil/goblin sort of monster. The pitchfork is really all that's devilish about him, but I guess he could still be something of a devil without it. Either way, I don't think it matters. I was basically trying out the tablet to see how well I could draw scales and textures. I haven't installed my new paint programs yet, so hopefully it will look better when I do. And last but not least is one that I did in color. Something very simple, yet colorful. :)

Like I said, these are just the first few pictures I've done with my tablet so far. Hopefully they'll get better. Alot better. :) I drew a few pictures on my graffiti wall on facebook and will hopefully get to publish some of those tomorrow, since they look a lot better than these. :)

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. As for me, I'm kind of glad the holidays are almost over. I'm just so exhausted! It will be nice to get back in the groove of things so I won't have to worry about my schedule and wrapping presents and making sure my neice and nephews didn't spill the beans and blurt out to everyone what their presents from me were. :) Plus I've been in somewhat of a creative rut this past week or so, so maybe once I have time to think about something besides presents, I'll have a better creative flow.

*Fingers crossed* ;)
