Mixed Media - doodles
I've got a bit of a cold, so my art is being
pushed to the side in favor of kleenexes and sleep at the moment, but I
thought I'd share a page or two I managed to doodle on this past week.
I'm still feeling my way around with the whole mixed media idea, but I
think I like where its taking me. :)

Butterflies and houses
Another simple image while trying out this style. I'll probably post
more of the butterflies later. I was really pleased with how they came
out.
Not really sure what this one is supposed to be though. It reminds me
of some sort of logo or a simple card idea, even though I can't think of
any sort of idea this would represent for either item. LoL!
Along with my fortune feather teller from yesterday, I created this and
couldn't help seeing it in various colors. I'd like to make an entire
village of these.

Sketches and some animal doodles
Just another group of sketches.
I was pretty pleased with how this turned out. It's not perfect, but I think it looks improved from my previous ponies at least. I've been trying to think of a name for her. I thought it might be fun to have her be related to Pinkie Pie but her cutie mark doesn't really suggest a relation there.
I'm not sure why I kept this guy purple. I wasn't really concerned with his color, just wanted to see how the overall image looked in some sort of colored form rather then just the sketch. And his legs look messed up but I like the way he looks mid body up so I may use that part somehow later? We'll see I guess.
I don't often try drawing full body sketches. I tend to practice small areas at a time, like doing head sketches. But I feel I should draw them more so I doodled this. I haven't been drawing very many animals lately either it seems like. I really like how this guy turned out. He still needs some polishing I think, but he makes for a cute little doodle. :)
Don't forget, you can also follow my work via DeviantArt and Facebook. :) Happy weekend to all!

My Sketch book
I love looking at other peoples' sketch books because they always look as if the ideas just flow from their heads onto the paper. Mine hardly ever looks that good when I do sketches. Normally the rough draft I do becomes the final piece and there really isn't much sketching done in between. However, I got a new sketch book the other day and have been fiddling around on the first page for the past couple of nights, so I thought I would share my own page. I wrote several words on it as I tried out different styles of my handwriting, so don't pay any attention to some of the words. Some are labels and others are just doodles of the words of the songs I was listening to at the time. I really like my pictures on here though. Especially the elf and the crocodile hunter. :)
The witch is an early idea for a poem I'm working on. This sketch actually gave me a new idea for the poem, so maybe sketching is more helpful to me than I think it is. :)
