New Work

Okay, so I haven't gotten to see Coraline yet, however it is on my to do list. :) Apparently movies don't run as late in the winter here as they do in the summer, and since this is a kid's movie, it only runs on the early times, so it will probably have to be a weekend before I can see it, and they're jam packed right now as it is. However, I will try to post about it when I see it. ;)

On another note, I still haven't been able to scan my newest sketches and works, but I have been doodling and playing around with my tablet and computer and came up with somethings I thought was cute last night. Thought I would share them with you guys really quick. ;)

Here's one that was more of an experiment. I've been trying out some of the techniques on adobe and here's a few of the pictures I've come up with so far.

I love the one with the airplanes. I tried printing it and it came out a little dark, so I may need to lighten it a bit, but I thought this would make a great luggage tag or something. I'm going to play around with adobe some more and some other techniques to see what I can come up with. ;)

Pumpkin Abstract

This is another pumpkin I did with my tablet. Thought I'd make it a little more abstract and different.

Then I tried tweaking it in photoshop and came up with this one that's a little bit darker and a little more bolder. Not sure which one I like best yet. Probably the first one. ;)

Pumpkin patch fencerow

Phew, have been busy, but I'm finally getting somewhat back into the groove of making art, so thought I would post a new pic for you to celebrate the coming of autumn. ;) I know, it's still a ways off, but I just love autumn! ;D

So, here's a little pumpkin I did. ;) Hope you enjoy it! Drew it with my wacom tablet, which I haven't used in ages either. Definately felt good to have that pen back in my hand once again. :)

Some new Art

I noticed that I have posted alot of words lately and not a lot of art. So, here's some new art for you to enjoy. :) I drew this one with my tablet.

A little birdie told me...

I did this with my tablet and really liked the colors and layout. It makes me think of spring. :) Oh, and I was in my 'studio' this weekend, creating some new art, so hopefully I can get some of those pics up soon, too.

Back to blogging

I'm so excited! I finally got my paint programs running and here's what I've come up with so far. This first picture is by far the easiest and cleanest oil painting I've ever done. In case you can't tell, it's a picture of flowers.

This second picture was actually the first one I did. It's definately alot easier to do some things on a computer, yet there are things that are easier, and more fun, to do with real paints and brushes. Still, painting on a computer is really fun, too. :)

Plus, I still have the other project I mentioned the other day that I need to post. But it may be a couple of days before I can get to it. It's done with real paint and paper, too, so you can decide if you like my computer work better, or my real artwork. Or neither. :) (Or both!)
Either way, I'll try to post my other work soon. Until then, I'm going to see what I can come up with using my tablet. ;)

Some of the first

Can we have a drum roll please? I'm about to reveal to you some of my first drawings / sketches with my Bamboo tablet, so please, hold all laughter, snickering, and snide remarks until the end of the show. ;)

First, we have, what I think I meant to be, a couple of worms. More specifically, a boy worm and a girl worm who kind of sorta really like each other. :)

This next picture is supposed to be a devil/goblin sort of monster. The pitchfork is really all that's devilish about him, but I guess he could still be something of a devil without it. Either way, I don't think it matters. I was basically trying out the tablet to see how well I could draw scales and textures. I haven't installed my new paint programs yet, so hopefully it will look better when I do. And last but not least is one that I did in color. Something very simple, yet colorful. :)

Like I said, these are just the first few pictures I've done with my tablet so far. Hopefully they'll get better. Alot better. :) I drew a few pictures on my graffiti wall on facebook and will hopefully get to publish some of those tomorrow, since they look a lot better than these. :)

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. As for me, I'm kind of glad the holidays are almost over. I'm just so exhausted! It will be nice to get back in the groove of things so I won't have to worry about my schedule and wrapping presents and making sure my neice and nephews didn't spill the beans and blurt out to everyone what their presents from me were. :) Plus I've been in somewhat of a creative rut this past week or so, so maybe once I have time to think about something besides presents, I'll have a better creative flow.

*Fingers crossed* ;)

A perfect day for a scarf and mittens

Like my title says, it's a perfect day for a scarf and mittens. So what did I put on this morning? My scarf and mittens! :D

Plus, since Thanksgiving is next week, I decided to go ahead and upload a picture for it. I did this one on Facebook's graffiti, so it's not as good as I would like, since I'm still getting the hang of the application, but it's kind of cute, so I thought I would post it for the holiday season, and since the weather seems to have that holiday feel to it. :)

Watching the sun

Here's a different sort of pic I did on facebook graffiti. I tried to go for realistic more than cartoony, but I think it sort of ended up kind of looking like both. (The grass doesn't look quite right to me. It looks...cartoony. :) Anyway, I thought I would share it with everyone. I did like how the tree turned out. And the sky. I'm trying to work on my blending on the computer.

Quack, quack over a broken heart

I know the title to this post is a little weird, but once you see the pictures, it makes a little more sense, I think. :) Like I said below, I've been working with the computer "Paint" program this weekend, and this is what I've done so far. Not much, actually, but I figure it's good practice in case I ever get a tablet or something. (I keep hinting that that's what I want for Christmas, but I don't think anyone seems to be paying attention. :) Anyway, I created this cute little duck and panda bear who's apparently got a broken heart.

One last picture

Okay, here's one last picture with some Halloween-ish colors. I did this on my laptop with my mouse and am extremely proud of how good it turned out. So, I thought I would share it as my last Halloween picture of the year. Maybe. ;) I've already started working on Thanksgiving and Christmas art, so this probably will be my last Halloween pic for awhile. :)
